# Description Once an upstart fisherman, Edgar Tap grew his trade into a small empire in the city of Cruft. Local family ties aided his rise to prominence as the foremost merchant in the area, but competition would soon find his ventures on the rocks. A crafty goblin by the name of [[Bucket]] would impose upon Edgar's corner of the market through questionable, albeit effective, methods. Their rivarly quickly escalated and would see Edgar sabatoge Bucket's one and only fishing vessel. The goblin retaliated by burning down not one, but five of Edgar's trawlers and two clippers, resulting in insurmountable losses for the mogul. Bucket quickly fled town, leaving Edgar near-penniless with no choice but to exact revenge. ![[Untitled 111.png|Untitled 111.png]] # Interactions Edgar Tap, somehow learning of Bucket's presence in Saltmarsh, sailed down the coast in attempts to spring a trap and catch the goblin off-guard. Having learned of Bucket's new sailing vessel, Edgar and his crew of hirelings from Cruft used the party's absence as an opportunity to load their ship full of hay. All he needed to do was plant a seed to lure Bucket to the ship, tie him up, and set the goblin and the ship ablaze. Unfortunately for Edgar, Bucket and his friends were keen that something was amiss. The party arrived at the ship to find it stacked full of hay and were on their guard. Edgar showed up, touting some newly acquired magical aides which allowed him to lift an entire palette of trade goods and throw it at the party. A battle ensued, but Edgar and his group of thugs were no match for the party. Edgar Tap's legacy bled out alongside him on the docks of Saltmarsh, but not before the party's ship was set ablaze and ultimately lost to the harbor.
